When the sun is hiding from your life,
The clouds are swirling round and round;
The winds are blowing hard and fast,
And you think they'll blow you down - God works.
When the fire seems to surround you,
Wreaking havoc, hurt and pain,
You watch ashes blow around you
Where you'll never be the same - God works.
When the raindrops turn to hailstones
Heaping pain upon your head,
And they melt into the sodden earth
Mixing with your blood so red - God works.
When you don't see Him in the shadows,
You don't see Him in the crowd,
You don't see Him though you're looking,
Speak these words out loud: God works!
He's working in ways unseen,
He's got a dream for you.
He's got a future waiting there,
And I can promise you: God works!
God works through all His Master Plan,
Through clouds and storm and pain.
Through nails and wood and crosses borne
And through His Holy Name - God works!
