The Dubman Family puts their money where their heart is.

By Sheila Rilenge, Inspire Managing Editor
You don't need to be a native to be familiar with the ads that have become a St. Louis institution of sorts; either Brook or Amy Dubman, the brother/sister team that now carries on their father, Nat Dubman's, heritage. It's the well-known tag-line, "Because YOU like nice things!" But what you may not be aware of is just how much this family contributes to our community.
Since 1964, when Nat opened Carol House's doors, the business has experienced fires, floods, tornadoes and recessions, but their dedication to the community has never wavered. In fact, the business has simply thrived, growing from just two employees to more than 145 in two locations.
Every time a piece of furniture is purchased at Carol House, a portion of that purchase is donated to one of the many local charities that the family supports. And that's what sets them apart :the knowledge that bigger things can come out of selling furniture.
From organizations such as the American Parkinson Disease Association, which helps to "ease the burden and find a cure" for Parkinson's disease to the Family Resource Center, which exists to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect, to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri, which "offers care and hope to thousands of companion animals and the people who share their lives," the Dubamn Family has taken an active role in helping their community.
Because they carry more than a hundred brands of furniture, Carol House can offer something that even the most difficult-to-please consumer can love. From traditional and contemporary styles to French country and antique replicas, you'll find an incredible selection of furniture that not only will grace your home, but will also play a role in helping others.
Carol House Furniture has two convenient locations: in Maryland Heights, at 2332 Millpark Drive, near the intersection of Lindbergh and Page (314-427-4200); and in Valley Park, at 38 Marshall Road, located near the intersection of Marshall Road and Hwy 141 (636-225-3666). You can also visit them online at www.carolhouse.com.
