Ask Linda

Have you ever wanted to ask someone how to help a friend with depression? What about confiding in someone concerning a co-worker's suspected substance use? Or, are you a new mom wondering why your response to the question "don't you just love spending your days with a baby" is "no?" Afraid to ask?

A woman, who had spent the last nine months wondering that very thing, was relieved when she found out she was not the first person who had confusing feelings about her baby. Her life had been turned upside down since having her baby and she was going through a trial-filled, but very common, adjustment period. The guilt she had was exacerbating her already present post-partum depression; a condition which is highly treatable with medication, therapy, or both. Sometimes just talking to someone about these things can bring us new perspective.

Starting in our next issue, we'd like to invite you talk. Please e-mail us your questions about marriage, parenting, depression and relationships... or anything else you have wanted to know, but were afraid to ask. As a licensed therapist, and a Christian, I want to help you find some Godly answers that also make sense in today's world. Please e-mail your questions to:
